Job Description:

  • May perform venipuncture and microtainer collection accurately and efficiently. Ensures specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received properly.
  • Processes and prepares laboratory specimens for testing, including separating specimens by centrifugation.
  • May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth.
  • May document equipment temperatures, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitors reference lab reports and requests results that are overdue. Maintains appropriate inventory levels and places supply orders as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


• Basic computer and keyboarding skills [Required]
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask [Required]
• Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment [Required]
• Phlebotomy both venipuncture and capillary collections [Required]
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc. [Required]


Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]


Field of Study:

Work Experience:

• 2+ experience in laboratory setting as laboratory assistant or phlebotomist [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Medical Lab Associate (MLA-ASCP) [Preferred] OR
•Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$17.11 - $27.38
