General Description: The Library Technology and Reference Specialist has two primary functions:
Provide technology support to users, including coordinating with the IT department to update, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the library's technology (computers, software, printers, scanners, assistive technology, etc.). Also, support and enhance user access to information by providing reference and instruction services as well as library outreach. Contributing to the NOVA Libraries social media; creating and updating research guides, manuals, and other instructional objects/tools.
Duties and Tasks:
Essential Functions: Contribute to the NOVA Libraries social media outreach as Medical Education Campus representative; Create and update research guides (LibGuides), manuals, and other digital and physical instructional objects/tools (videos, handouts); Provide instruction for students. Work at service desk; Manage and maintain the Medical Education Campus archives, serving as the primary contact for inquiries; Serve on campus/college committees, perform other tasks/projects at the discretion of the Instruction & Technology Librarian and Lead Medical Librarian.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
