OverallResponsibility:Leadthepreventivemaintenanceprogram,repairsandprocess modifications of facility structures and equipment.

KeyAreasof Responsibility:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensurethatplantoperationsarecompliantwithfoodsafetyregulationsandoccupationalsafety regulations (FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc.).

BudgetControl:

  • Workwithseniormanagementtodetermineanoperationsbudgetforprojectedplantrenovationsor equipment purchases.

  • Proactivelyseekoutnewtechnologiesformoreproficientprocessingorforthedesignofnew products.

InventoryControl:

  • Maintainanadequatesupplyofequipmentpartsandmaterialstoensureplantoperationsrun efficiently.

PreventiveMaintenance:

  • Maintaina cleanandsafeworkenvironment.

  • Schedule/prioritizeworkordersbaseduponemergencies

  • Verifythatrepairs/modificationsarecompletedaccurately,andthatsufficientdocumentationis completed in support of the food safety and occupational safety programs.

  • Sustainintegrityandproperfunctionofprocessingequipmentandcomponents. Verifythat processingequipmentismaintainedaccordingtomanufacturerspecificationsorregulatory requirements.

  • Schedule / perform preventive maintenance tasks on all processing equipment as necessary to maintainsafeandlegalproducts.

  • Performpreoperative/postmaintenanceverificationinspectionstoensurethatequipmentisintact and is free from build-up or other contaminants and as necessary for post maintenance / pre-operational line clearance.

  • Verifythefunctionofprocessingequipmentandproducttestingequipmentaccordingtothefood safety program (i.e., magnets, etc.).

ProcessModifications/EquipmentReplacement:

  • Verifysanitarydesignstandardsareutilizedwhenperformingprocessmodificationsorequipment replacements.

  • Managetheinspectionapprovalprocesswhencommissioningnewprocessing equipment.

  • Workwithmanagementtoverifythatcalibrationrecordsarecurrentforfoodprocessing andproduct testing equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeofprocessingoperations

  • Knowledgeof equipmentfabricationandrepairtechniques

  • Goodorganizationoftimeandresources

  • Capabilityto troubleshoot and makedecisions based upon uniquesituations

  • Computerskills(Microsoft Word,MicrosoftExcel, etc.)

  • Abilitytocommunicatewith othermanagement,contractors, auditors,andcustomers

  • Providesupporttoemployeerespect, teamwork,and productivity
