Lead Maintenance Mechanic

The Lead Maintenance Mechanic oversees a small team of 1-5 technicians, primarily working day shifts to ensure reliable operation of mechanical and cross-disciplinary equipment. Reporting directly to the President, this role balances 90% hands-on repair and preventive maintenance with 10% administrative duties including scheduling and documentation using CMMS software. The position emphasizes team supervision, safety oversight, and efficient troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment repair and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
• Heavy industrial machinery repair
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems
• Supervise and train a small maintenance team of 1-5 members
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation via CMMS software
• Create and coordinate maintenance schedules and assignments
• Support cross-disciplinary maintenance tasks beyond mechanical systems

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in mechanical repair and preventive maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting skills with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Demonstrated team leadership and safety compliance
• Ability to read technical manuals and documentation
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills
