Lead Maintenance Technician Cherokee Country Club
Cherokee Country Club is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Lead Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. This position plays an important role in maintaining the safety, appearance, functionality, and overall condition of our Club facilities. The ideal candidate is a skilled maintenance professional with experience in multiple trades who takes pride in their work and can troubleshoot problems independently. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance throughout Club facilities.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
- Perform general carpentry, painting, drywall, fixture, hardware, and building repairs.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and other Club equipment as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance or safety concerns before they become larger issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from Club departments.
- Help prioritize daily maintenance tasks to ensure work is completed efficiently and properly.
- Provide guidance and hands-on assistance to other maintenance team members.
- Assist with training employees on proper maintenance procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs or services are required.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and completed work orders.
- Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance shops, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Assist with Club events, special projects, event setups, and facility needs when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, facility appearance, safety, and operating efficiency.
- Follow all Club policies, OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and applicable building regulations.
- Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial facilities, building maintenance, construction, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a lead or senior maintenance role preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and respond appropriately.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also providing support to other team members.
- Professional appearance and ability to interact courteously with members, guests, employees, vendors, and contractors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade-school training is preferred.
- Relevant HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or other trade certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and working from ladders. Candidates must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Because Cherokee Country Club operates throughout the week, candidates must have scheduling flexibility and be available for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency maintenance situations as needed.
