Description Job Summary/Overall Objectives Addresses maintenance requests and assigns work to the appropriate maintenance technicians. Assists the Manager with the scheduling of maintenance projects, coordinating efforts with the Facilities Planning and Development team and on-site construction and renovation project managers. Assists the Manager in Facilities department meetings and other departmental activities. Essential Job Functions + Assists the Director with various departmental activities. + Assists Director with employee communications and training. + May represent department on committees or in meetings, as needed. + Recommends and drafts for approval department policies and procedures. + Provides input into performance appraisals and hiring decisions. May conduct interviews with Director. + May conduct customer service incident follow-up. + Serves as a resource for the department and for other employees. + Spends over 20% of time performing the same work as other maintenance staff. + Assist others with maintenance work, as needed. + Performs duties by applying one or more trade skills associated with construction, electrical maintenance, plumbing, machine and equipment repair, and general building maintenance. + Assists with snow removal as needed. + Other duties as assigned. Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities] Required Qualifications/Experience + Graduate of two (2) years of trade school or equivalent with five (5) years applicable experience, or fifteen (15) years of applicable experience. + Five (5) Years of experience in commercial institutional, industrial maintenance or construction. + Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment. + Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience. + Demonstrate ability to read and interpret construction documents. + Demonstrate or document ability to interpret/utilize building codes and regulations. + Takes leadership role on tasks and is a proven problem solver. + Mentors and educates other personnel in construction and maintenance procedures and techniques. Preferred Qualifications/Experience + No preferred qualifications. License, Certification & Clearances + Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system + Valid Driver’s License (if out of state hire, the record report from applicable state’s driver license department is required). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work + Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.). + Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
