Job SummaryA well-versed maintenance teammate, the Maintenance Technician will use their high level of mechanical ability and complementary electrical ability to maintain, repair, and build equipment at an Oil-Dri facility.
Essential Functions
Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipmentPerform routine maintenance on electrical systemsPerform lubrication and greasingDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipmentDiagnose and troubleshoot common electrical systemsInstall common electrical systemsPerform inspections on mechanical safety systemsInstall new conduit and pull wireDiagnose and troubleshoot networking and PLC systemsFabricate new and fix old equipment with welding/cutting/pipe-fitting/riggingUse common and complex mechanical hand toolsUse common electrical toolsInstall analog and discrete PLC equipmentWrite, open, and complete work ordersFulfill on call dutiesAssist and continuous improvement sessionsAssist in SHE and Quality PillarsEnsure good housekeeping around shop and external work areaAudit work place examsAudit vehicle inspectionsShop walk/inspectionAttend 8am meeting (A Shift)Verify daily work progress (Checking in on techs)Update maintenance schedule on Teams spreadsheet (Throughout the day/shift)Update all emergency work orders on Teams spreadsheet (Throughout the day/shift)Filter entered (JDE) work orders to verify accuracy and category (Throughout the day/shift)Contact vendors for quotes and/or parts informationEnter requisitions for partsCoordinate with MRO and Planner for parts kitting and verify staged partsCoordinate/Update schedule adherence with Planner and address any changes neededHelp identify aged parts and update Teams spreadsheetWork on SOPs/OPLs and LOTO documentation (Required 3 SOPs/OPLs and 1 LOTO Procedure per month)Audit previously completed work orders and update Teams spreadsheet (Audit for quality of work)Audit work order time entries and verify accuracy with actual work performedCoordinate w/Manager and Planner future repairs/strategies/needsWork Orders (Perform work in the plant) Dependent on time availability after other tasks are completeProvide updates to manager throughout the shift
Qualifications
Have two-year technical degree and/or necessary experienceHave HS diploma and/or necessary experienceMaintain strong commitment to Safety and WE CARE valuesSelf-directed with the ability to work independently and as a teamPossess communication and problem-solving skillsMeet minimum required skill assessmentsRead & Understand SOP/AIQ/PWIRead & Understand Manuals/Diagrams/SchematicsPerform average electrical tasksPerform advanced mechanical skillsOperate mobile equipmentOperate processing and packaging EquipmentFunction in ODC systems JDE/Dayforce/OutlookEmbrace continuous improvement culture
