Job Title: Lead Marketo Solutions Architect /Specialist
Location: Dallas, TX Atlanta, GA and Chicago , IL Hybrid onsite
Pay Rate: $75/hr
Project Overview: We are seeking an expert-level Marketo Solutions Architect to lead a complex, enterprise-grade Marketo carve-out and implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering a fully functional, production-ready Marketo Engage instance seamlessly integrated with Salesforce (SFDC), custom Heroku middleware, and various third-party marketing technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Instance Provisioning & Migration: Deliver a fully provisioned Marketo production instance. Oversee the structural manual migration of up to 100 historical marketing programs using the Marketo Program Import Wizard. Ensure active local assets, smart campaigns, and tokens are migrated without loss of campaign architecture.
Pre-Migration Auditing & Data Prep: Conduct a thorough pre-migration inventory of existing assets (images, emails, landing pages, forms, smart campaigns) to identify what should be migrated versus retired. Audit the source database to purge inactive or redundant records and build a comprehensive Data Dictionary mapping all CRM, Marketo-only, and custom fields.
Compliance Data Transfer: Right before the final transition and blackout window, extract global unsubscribes, blocklists, and hard bounces from the legacy system and upload them as a Trusted List Import into the new instance to maintain strict data privacy and deliverability compliance.
CRM Synchronization: Execute an end-to-end data sync with Salesforce utilizing custom sync filters to selectively isolate and import legacy records based on the completed database audit.
Middleware Data Routing & Deduplication: Route all incoming lead data through a configured Heroku ("Referee") middleware pipeline. Collaborate with developers to implement UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) matching logic to dynamically deduplicate records and prevent API race conditions during parallel database writes. Merge configuration scripts and routing rules into the version control repository.
Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) & Lead Scoring: Integrate and configure Adobe Marketo Measure to calculate MTA models (e.g., W-Shaped and Linear/Even Spread) across active marketing channels. Align CRM Campaign touchpoint rules to the standard attribution models and help design a robust lead scoring model.
Tech Stack Integrations: Configure Marketo webhooks and custom API LaunchPoint services to ingest and map data elements from Demandbase, Lytics, ZoomInfo, and Salesforce.
Deliverability & IP Warming: Design and execute a gradual IP warming schedule within the new Marketo instance to build sender reputation with ISPs and ensure maximum deliverability prior to the full launch.
System Integration Testing (SIT) & Documentation: Execute end-to-end SIT test scripts demonstrating 100% data integrity across the SFDC sync and Heroku pipeline. Author a comprehensive Technical Design Document (TDD) detailing the SFDC custom sync filters, field mappings, UUID deduplication rules, and the Marketo Measure MTA schema.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Platform Expertise: 5+ years of advanced, hands-on experience as a Marketo Administrator or Solutions Architect (Adobe Marketo Engage Architect and/or Expert certification strongly preferred).
Salesforce Integration: Deep technical knowledge of the native Marketo-Salesforce bidirectional sync, custom sync filters, Salesforce profile permissions, and CRM data schemas.
Migration Experience: Proven track record of managing large-scale Marketo-to-Marketo migrations, including database cleansing, Program Import Wizard usage, and blackout window coordination.
Attribution Modeling: Proven experience deploying Adobe Marketo Measure (formerly Bizible), including JavaScript deployment, ad platform integration, and configuring custom/standard attribution models.
API & Middleware Familiarity: Strong understanding of REST APIs, custom webhooks, and data synchronization logic, specifically working alongside developers on Heroku or similar middleware pipelines to resolve deduplication and payload issues.
Project Management: Excellent technical project management skills to oversee rigorous QA testing and coordinate team resources and task assignments across the project lifecycle.
