This Lead position in Mechanical Engineering will be the main technical lead onsite in Millersville for our Seabed Systems product lines. The position will be responsible for mechanical design, procurement support, environmental testing, and production support for Seabed Systems. A key part of this role is to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries and ensure programs are smoothly transitioned to production and deployment phases. The successful candidate is an experienced technical and business professional who is able to focus simultaneously on near- and long-term objectives.

Technical leadership of the Mechanical Engineering team throughout the full program lifecycle including design, development, manufacturing, formal hardware qualification, integration and test, transition to production, and production support.
Provide guidance and support to achieve project goals including participation in major design and milestone reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions
Is a requirements-driven design engineer.
Provide inputs to EVMS reporting regarding monthly progress and estimates to completion based on quantifiable backup data.
Develop mechanical technical approaches for future proposals.
Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives.
Travel up to 10% to vendor or manufacturing facilities will be required.

Qualifications:

Experience leading a Mechanical Design team
Experience with electronics packaging for harsh marine environments
Experience with Solidworks and PDM Vault
Experience with undersea acoustics/sonar equipment
Experience with DFx (Design for Simplicity, Manufacturability, Testability, etc)
Experience working with government contracts, requirements, and compliance
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Ability to obtain security clearance
