We seek a Lead Mechanical Engineer who has a passion for ownership and pride in the quality of our deliverables. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will execute and lead technical work on our EPC projects for the mechanical discipline, provide oversight and quality reviews, and ultimately own quality for their specific discipline on the projects. The role reports directly to the Principal Mechanical Engineer and requires coordination with the integrated EPC team and clients to deliver world‑class, quality‑focused deliverables.Reports to: Principal Mechanical EngineerWork location: 11141 Overbrook Rd #202, Leawood, KS 66211Position ResponsibilitiesClient facing and manage scope, budget, and schedule for the mechanical discipline on assigned projects, including executing change management.Provide third‑party Mechanical Engineering oversight and quality reviews.Own the mechanical technical design and may serve as engineer of record.Perform or review routine and complex engineering, design, analysis, and other technical tasks within the mechanical discipline using current technology, available standards, calculation software, templates, and cataloged products.Prepare/review P&IDs, equipment layouts, 3D models, piping isometrics, area classifications, sizing calculations, line lists, valve lists, equipment specifications, data sheets, requisitions, and technical bid analysis.Work collaboratively with the integrated EPC team and clients to execute RFIs, deliverable reviews, change order requests, engineering equipment buy‑outs, etc.Develop the engineering project team vision, identify priorities, and align with operational goals.Foster high‑performing teams and behaviors to execute projects.Mentor and develop team members, providing technical guidance regarding projects and disciplines.Seek ways to improve customer satisfaction, the quality of the work product, and operating efficiencies.Help develop, review, and implement guidelines and procedures to ensure engineering standardization and templating of our PowerFLX work.Stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices and apply practical solutions.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.Six (6) years of related experience in fossil fuels, power, or generation.Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.Ability to multi‑task and manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously within an aggressive schedule.Proficient in interpreting and providing direction on project controls and scheduling.Independently applies knowledge and ensures compliance with quality program; establishes related processes and promotes a culture conducive to quality; provides guidance and direction to others; supports continuous improvement and change management.Good negotiation, presentation, and persuasion skills; experienced in communicating ideas, winning approval, and reaching resolutions with a variety of audiences.Knowledgeable of ANSI, ASME, NFPA, and other industry codes, specifications, and standards.Ability to perform engineering calculations (pipe flow, line sizing, equipment sizing, pressure drop, etc.).Comfortable with change and ambiguity; adaptable, collaborative and a systems thinker.Proactively provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes.Actively manages project changes directly with the Client under supervision from the Project Engineering Manager.Perform work safely and effectively; understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within deadlines; work overtime and weekends as required.Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.US work authorization is a precondition of employment; the company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship.Successful candidate will satisfactorily complete pre‑employment drug screen and background check.Desired QualificationsRegistered Professional Engineer in Mechanical Discipline.Active participation in industry‑recognized professional societies.Knowledge of Aconex Document Controls software.Clear understanding of construction and constructability practices & principles.Working knowledge of procurement and contract administration.Working knowledge of processes and procedures for project controls and estimating.Working knowledge of technical aspects of the proposal and estimate process.Basic business and financial acumen.Owner or Client engineering background.BenefitsCompetitive pay and excellent benefits that include Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life/Disability Insurance at minimal cost to the employee, 10 paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementIt is PROENERGY's policy to provide equal opportunity in employment to all its employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, national origin, marital status, ancestry, medical condition, military status, or any other characteristic protected by State or Federal law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
