Our mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, telecommunications, and security building‑system designs keep many of the world's top Fortune 100, technology, enterprise, hyperscale, and colocation companies up and running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.This Opportunity kW Mission Critical Engineering, a member of WSPUSA, is currently searching for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support our Milwaukee, WI office.Your Impact Produce high‑quality technical and professional deliverables for projects and proposalsDesign complex and large air‑distribution (supply, return, exhaust) and hydronic systems (chilled water, heating water, etc.)Design automatic building automation controls systems and specifications for large air‑distribution and heat‑rejection systemsWork within multidisciplinary project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building ownersAttend client meetings and lead discussionsCommunicate complex mechanical engineering concepts and decisions to clients and stakeholdersDirect complex mechanical engineering requirements and integrate them into facility designsCollaborate and coordinate with internal project discipline team members and external equipment vendors and manufacturersAct as the lead mechanical engineer on projects and direct the project teamLead and mentor a team of engineersPerform project‑management activities including writing proposals, establishing budgets, and managing client interactionsCoordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issuesSurvey and evaluate existing conditionsPerform construction administration and exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needsWho You Are The ideal candidate is a technically sound mechanical engineer with the ability to lead and develop complex projects and foster the growth of junior engineers. The candidate has strong communication skills and an interest in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external design, client, and construction team members.
