Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead mechanical design of industrial control panel enclosures, skids, cabinets, and integrated mechanical assemblies.
Maintain and improve internal engineering standards and best practices.
Partner with Project Managers, Electrical Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
Mentor junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and design reviews.
Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, standardization, and manufacturability.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and production.
Lead and oversee the design of custom generator enclosures and integrated power distribution systems.
Structural & HVAC Integration: Collaborate across disciplines to ensure structural and cooling systems are optimized for durability, safety, and efficiency.
Material & Component Strategy: Specify materials and components to align geographic and environmental considerations.
Documentation & Compliance: Produce detailed design packages including drawings, bill of materials, and technical documentation; ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
Client Collaboration: Serve as a primary technical interface with clients throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Project Management: Drive engineering schedules and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet milestones.
Mentorship: Lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold rigorous quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years collaborating with mission critical custom enclosures.
Expertise in mechanical design within commercial or industrial construction settings
Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD (3D), and related engineering design tools
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
