    Lead Mechanical Engineer (PE)

    Charlotte, NC | On-Site 

    Full-Time | $120 – $150K, depending on experience 

    Summary:
    • We are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) with a strong background in HVAC system design for commercial and/or multifamily residential projects.
    • This role combines technical leadership, client interaction, and mentorship responsibilities.
    • The ideal candidate will be capable of owning projects from concept through construction, while leading a small team of junior engineers and designers.
    Responsibilities:
    • Lead the design and development of HVAC systems for commercial and multifamily residential projects.
    • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing (e.g., chillers, boilers, VRF, rooftop units, etc.).
    • Develop and review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
    • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and energy efficiency requirements.
    • Serve as a technical point of contact for:
      • Code officials and permitting authorities
      • Architects and design teams
      • Building owners and stakeholders
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing technical oversight and quality control.
    • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and coordination across disciplines.
    • Conduct site visits and field evaluations; travel as needed to support projects.
    • Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and issue resolution.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • PE License
    • 10+ years of HVAC design experience with a strong background with commercial or multi family projects
    • Revit knowledge
    • Ability to mentor junior staff
