Lead Medical Technologist / Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist (Micro experience required)

Lead Medical Technologist 

HOURS: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Technologist – Section Lead is responsible for day-to-day operations of a specific lab section, clinics point of care testing, and assuring all local, state, and federal regulations are met. The Medical Technologist – Section Lead will work in all areas of the laboratory including chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, hematology, urinalysis, blood gases, coagulation, and serology.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree including completion of an approved Clinical Laboratory Science program.
• Licensure/Certification: MT (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Three to five years’ experience preferred within a subsection of the laboratory. One to three years’ leadership experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

1. Review all policies and procedures and recommend improvements as necessary.
2. Operate all laboratory equipment, perform maintenance and calibration as necessary.
3. Stay current with CEU requirements and perform patient testing accurately.
4. Participate in proficiency testing, competency testing, and special projects as required.
5. Assist in maintaining technical policies, evaluating equipment, and new employee training.
6. Use safety devices and PPEs when handling biohazardous materials.
