    About the Opportunity

    The Lead Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents who need assistance in accordance with state regulatory stipulations and requirements for safe administration. Observes the resident taking the medication, notes effects including any unexpected or adverse effects, correctly documents the required information in the residents' medication administration records, communicates any concerns or observations with the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator or designated personnel. Supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health. Encourages resident independence, supports resident choice and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.

    The Lead Medication Aide also oversees daily medication workflows, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely administration. Provides coaching and support to Medication Aides, assist with training, and conduct routine quality checks of documentation and medication storage. Serves as the primary shift resource for medication‑related questions and coordinates closely with Wellness leadership to address concerns and maintain continuity of care.

    • Leadership in medication accuracy; ensuring consistent adherence to medication administration protocols by proactively identifying errors, reinforcing best practices, and supporting staff in maintaining high accuracy standards.

    • Workflow coordination; organizing and prioritizing medication‑related tasks during the shift, ensuring smooth transitions, timely administration, and effective communication across care teams.

    • Staff development support; assisting Wellness leadership in evaluating staff competency, providing constructive feedback, and supporting ongoing skill development for Medication Aides.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior direct care experience required.

    • High school diploma or GED.

    • Current CPR certification preferred.

    • Meets age requirements according to facility policy and state regulations.
