The ideal candidate has extensive experience selling wine into chain accounts. This job is responsible for leading Merchandisers in their designated locations.
Job Description:
Merchandising Lead
Train and develop Merchandisers in the field weekly (or more often upon hiring) to provide on-the-job sales training.
Train Merchandisers on technical assets (Pocket Advantage, SharePoint, Shop.Maverick.com, etc) and internal operations.
Route market Merchandisers as needed to ensure efficient deliveries and merchandising based on market needs as well as vacation/open route coverage.
Create and foster an open and positive work/team environment. Address any and all concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Attend sales meetings as needed to foster overall communication with both Sales and Merchandising teams.
Coordinate and execute quarterly/monthly meetings with Merchandising team for programming details, overall goals for team/company, future needs.
Oversee execution on retail placements and approved items sell-through.
Oversee team to ensure successful execution and service to Chain accounts.
Recruit for new talent in tandem with the Off Premise Manager (this includes creating sales routes, reviewing resumes and conducting interviews).
Address any account issues/complaints to find an equitable resolution and restore the relationship.
Backfill for sales reps on vacation/open route as needed.
Enter orders, maintain accounts, and assist with retail deliveries.
Merchandise accounts/deliver orders as needed.
Ensure full compliance on chain schematics, planners and planograms.
Market work should consist of 90% of the week. Lead should spend approximately 1/2 day per week in the office, but the rest of the week should be in the market with Merchandisers.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to travel within established geographic areas, as necessary.
Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers license and meet company driving record & automobile insurance requirements.
