Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Springfield Regional Medical Center

Job Summary:

The Lead Nuclear Medicine Tech applies the practice of nuclear medicine imaging through safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the procurement, triage, preparation, quality control, calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage, and safe handling of all radioactive materials.
  • Leads the daily section operations and acts as point of contact for hospital staff, physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Manages staff scheduling, maintaining team oversight, and delivering trainings.
  • Monitors section's nuclear equipment, coordinating repairs and making recommendations.
  • Researches, develops, and implements quality performance standards and imaging techniques.

Education:

  • Associate's degree from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (required)

Licensure/Certification:

  • Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (required)
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (required)

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience practicing Nuclear Medicine (required)
