Lead O&M & Commissioning Technician
Pay: $50–55/hr
Location: Nationwide Travel (100%)
A growing renewable energy contractor is seeking an experienced Lead O&M & Commissioning Technician to support commercial and utility-scale solar projects throughout the United States.
This position is responsible for leading operations & maintenance activities, commissioning new systems, troubleshooting electrical and control components, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting warranty and special projects.
Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and corrective service on commercial solar systems

Lead pre- and post-energization commissioning activities

Troubleshoot inverters, DAS/SCADA systems, MET stations, trackers, and related equipment

Complete punch list walks and support project closeout

Prepare detailed service and commissioning reports

Train and mentor apprentice-level technicians

Coordinate with project teams, utilities, and asset owners during system energization

Support warranty, repower, and EPC projects as needed
Qualifications
-
4+ years of commercial solar O&M and commissioning experience

Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent)

OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E

Experience with inverters, DAS/SCADA systems, SEL relays, and single-axis trackers

Strong troubleshooting and leadership skills

Ability to travel 100% nationwide for extended periods

Valid driver's license

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
