Description

Lead O&M & Commissioning Technician

Pay: $50–55/hr
Location: Nationwide Travel (100%)

A growing renewable energy contractor is seeking an experienced Lead O&M & Commissioning Technician to support commercial and utility-scale solar projects throughout the United States.

This position is responsible for leading operations & maintenance activities, commissioning new systems, troubleshooting electrical and control components, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting warranty and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective service on commercial solar systems
  • Lead pre- and post-energization commissioning activities
  • Troubleshoot inverters, DAS/SCADA systems, MET stations, trackers, and related equipment
  • Complete punch list walks and support project closeout
  • Prepare detailed service and commissioning reports
  • Train and mentor apprentice-level technicians
  • Coordinate with project teams, utilities, and asset owners during system energization
  • Support warranty, repower, and EPC projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial solar O&M and commissioning experience
  • Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent)
  • OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E
  • Experience with inverters, DAS/SCADA systems, SEL relays, and single-axis trackers
  • Strong troubleshooting and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel 100% nationwide for extended periods
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
