Lead Payroll Representative

Overview

Lead Payroll Representative We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Payroll Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for the accurate and confidential processing of payroll for employees across 19 branch locations, while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will possess deep payroll expertise, strong analytical skills, and experience managing complex payroll functions, including commissions, garnishments, child support orders, and benefits implementation. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Process and administer payroll accurately and timely for employees across 19 branch locations.

• Manage complex payroll transactions, including:

• Commission-based payroll

• Confidential and executive payroll

• Payroll adjustments and corrections

• Administer payroll-related deductions, including garnishments and child support orders.

• Support and coordinate benefit implementation activities and payroll integration.

• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws.

• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and tax-related issues.

• Prepare payroll reports and perform data audits using advanced Excel functions.

• Partner with Human Resources, Benefits, and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and compensation information.

• Assist with payroll system enhancements, testing, and process improvements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume, multi-location environment.
• Extensive experience processing commission payroll.
• Experience handling confidential payroll information.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, garnishments, and child support requirements.
• Experience with benefit implementation and payroll-related benefits administration.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines.
• Experience with Workday.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with E1/PeopleSoft payroll systems.
• Experience with ServiceTitan is a plus.
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
