The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees. POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the clinical nurse manager, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring optimal operations of the Scheduling Office by scheduling, coordinating, and prioritizing Operating Room and other perioperative cases and resolving any issues without disruption to the OR schedule. Serves as a resource for accurate and complete perioperative account, charging and billing. Represents the perioperative scheduling department to collaborate for accurate billing and account management

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2 years related patient scheduling experience with sufficient knowledge to coordinate, monitor and/or instruct the work of others, making meaningful contributions to such work.

COMPETENCIES:

• A basic level of skill in the use of Microsoft Windows-based WORD, EXCEL and OUTLOOK software programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication with co-workers and patients using the English language to communicate appropriately and clearly to team leader, co-workers and other members of the health care team.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Proactively assess problems and find creative solutions that support the operational goals of the institution utilizing experience and critical thinking while applying continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to provide sound recommendations and alternative methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects from initiation to completion within prescribed schedules and utilization or resources.
• Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
