Lead Pharmacy Technician - Clark County Location

Bluegrass Community Health Center is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to support the daily operations of our growing pharmacy team. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy workflows while providing leadership, training, and operational support to pharmacy staff. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate daily pharmacy workflow to ensure prescriptions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide leadership, training, and onboarding support for pharmacy technicians.
  • Manage medication inventory, ordering, recalls, and controlled substance records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy standards.
  • Assist with quality assurance activities to promote patient safety and medication accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot insurance claims, billing issues, and medication access concerns.
  • Support pharmacy technology, recordkeeping, cash handling, and administrative functions.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, nursing staff, and other departments to improve patient care and pharmacy operations.
  • Assist with specialty medication tracking, prior authorizations, and clinical pharmacy support.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience or experience in a medication management/quality-related role.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred:

  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential.
  • Knowledge of the 340B program.
