Lead Power Electronics Engineer – Corporate Sector DivisionRelocation offered.Expected annual salary range: $105,000 - $154,000 a year.What You'll DoLead Power Electronics Engineer for Eaton's Power Electronics Center of Excellence (CoE), developing innovative solutions for power conversion products.Essential FunctionsLead power electronics design and development, taking full ownership of assigned tasks.Design, model, simulate, and develop power electronics, including analog and digital circuits for power conversion and protection.Develop technical requirements and create reports and presentations.Build and test circuits, analyze data, and optimize designs for performance, size, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, and firmware engineers to develop and validate designs.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering and minimum 6 years of experience in power electronics designs and product development, ORMaster's degree in engineering and minimum 4 years of experience in power electronics designs and product development.Minimum 4 years of experience in power electronics modeling, simulation, and analysis using tools such as Simulink, SPICE, or PLECS.Minimum 4 years of experience with power converter hardware development and testing.Applicant must be a U.S. person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).MS or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or equivalent with focus on power electronics.Strong knowledge of power semiconductors, passive components (high‑frequency magnetics, power capacitors), and analog/digital circuit designs.Experience with modern converter topologies (AC/DC, DC/AC, DC/DC, isolated and non‑isolated).Thorough understanding of PCB layout, EMC/EMI design practices, voltage clearance/creepage requirements, and insulation/interconnection techniques.Experience in power electronics system development, including architecture and requirements definition.SkillsSelf‑motivated and goal‑oriented.Strong communication and presentation skills.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and technical documents.Position requires up to 10% travel.BenefitsEaton offers a comprehensive benefits package including Health and Welfare benefits, retirement plans, and programs for paid and unpaid time away from work.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
