Job Summary
Little Lambs Christian Academy is seeking an experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to guide our classroom of young learners. This role involves planning and leading daily instruction, assessing developmental progress, and creating a Christ-centered learning environment that meets both individual and group needs.
The ideal candidate has a passion for early childhood education and a heart for nurturing children academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. You enjoy building meaningful relationships with students, creating engaging lessons, and modeling Christ-like love and values each day.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum in a Christian setting
- Teach early literacy, beginning math, and foundational learning skills
- Support children in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills
- Use a variety of instructional methods to engage diverse learners
- Observe, assess, and track students’ progress to ensure developmental milestones are being met
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents and school staff
- Lead classroom routines and guide assistant teachers or aides as needed
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Ability to manage a classroom with patience, structure, and grace
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, with close adherence to all policies
- Strong problem-solving, mediation, and teamwork skills
- Prior experience in early childhood education is required
- DCF 40-hour training is required
- Willingness to support and model Christian values in the classroom

We are located in Killearn Lakes off Deer Lake South near Killearn Lakes Elementary. Our mission is to create well-rounded students by cultivating a Christian foundation of love, structure, and knowledge. Programs at Little Lambs include preschool, summer camp, after-school, and a plethora of enrichment activities.

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
It is well known that lambs are young sheep. As expressed in the Scripture above, Peter, a founding apostle of the Christian Faith, was not only commissioned to preach the Gospel (Matthew 28:18-20) but “feed” the young of God’s flock.
To "feed" spiritually encompasses the full care of that individual. It goes beyond the natural supply of food. This type of feeding requires nurturing, loving, protecting, and teaching.
Jesus, The Great Shepherd, connects the expression of love for Him with the care of His lambs. The Lord has revealed this to us and graced us with the heart to care for His precious young flock OR lambs. Thus, the Little Lamb's vision is to impart God, educate, feed, and love on God’s little lambs.
