Pearl Academy is a 5-star early learning center in Jacksonville serving children ages 2.5–5. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead VPK Teacher to join our team.


This position is responsible for leading a VPK classroom, preparing students for kindergarten, and maintaining a structured, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.


️ Responsibilities:

•  Lead a VPK classroom in alignment with Florida Early Learning Standards 
•  Implement lesson plans that support kindergarten readiness 
•  Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment 
•  Manage classroom ratios and daily routines 
•  Conduct student assessments and track developmental progress 
•  Communicate professionally with parents (Brightwheel) 
•  Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership team 
•  Ensure compliance with DCF and VPK requirements

Requirements:

•  VPK credential (Florida Staff Credential or equivalent) 
•  Previous experience as a lead teacher in a preschool or VPK setting 
•  Strong classroom management skills 
•  Knowledge of DCF licensing standards 
•  Reliable, professional, and team-oriented 
•  Passion for early childhood education 

Schedule:


Full-time (Monday–Friday)
 VPK hours: 9:00 AM – 12:45 PM (plus full-day responsibilities)
