Oak Tree Education Consulting, California’s specialized early childhood education (ECE) placement partner, is seeking an experienced and compliance-driven Lead Educator for a highly respected parish school in Encinitas, California. We are looking for a passionate professional committed to fostering Christ-centered leadership in a 3-year-old classroom environment.

This position is ideal for an educator who excels in the highly regulated California ECE ecosystem and understands the necessity of rigorous compliance and instructional excellence.

Role Mandate
The Lead Early Childhood Educator is responsible for planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process for the 3-year-old class, ensuring instructional fidelity and strict adherence to California regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • California Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Uphold and enforce all necessary guidelines set forth in the Title 22 Regulations and the Health and Safety Code, as prescribed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
  • Curriculum & Instruction: Plan and implement a differentiated program of instruction that adheres to the school’s philosophy, mission, and curriculum standards set by the client and the State of California.
  • Assessment & Data: Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to consistently evaluate student progress and utilize data to drive instructional planning.
  • Classroom & Student Management: Develop and consistently apply positive, reasonable rules of classroom behavior. Share responsibility for the supervision of all students during school hours, including recess, lunch, and school events.
  • Parent & Professional Communication: Conference with parents, respond to messages in a timely manner, and maintain current, accurate student records as required by the school, the Diocese, and the State of California.
  • Catholic Identity Support: Promote the mission of Catholic education, model lived Gospel values, and demonstrate a willingness to participate in school Masses, religious services, retreats, and school-wide faith activities.

Compliance & Professional Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Candidates presented by Oak Tree must meet the following statutory and professional qualifications, aligning with our rigorous pre-screening protocols:1

  • Educational Credentials: Minimum 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units required.1
  • Health & Safety Clearance:
    • Pediatric CPR/First Aid certified.
    • Negative TB test and proof of required immunizations (Pertussis and Measles).1
  • Background Check: Able to successfully complete the Live Scan process for statutory final clearance by the facility operator.1
  • Religious Qualifications (Preferred): Active, practicing Roman Catholic and possession of or willingness to obtain the San Diego Basic Catechetical Certification.
