Northstar Montessori is seeking a warm, experienced, and passionate Lead Primary Montessori Teacher to guide a Primary classroom where children are encouraged to become confident, independent, and joyful learners.
As our Lead Teacher, you will create a peaceful, engaging Montessori environment, build meaningful relationships with children and families, and collaborate with a supportive team dedicated to authentic Montessori education.
This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) position in Saline, Michigan. Applicants must hold a Primary Montessori Teaching Credential and live within commuting distance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a beautiful, organized Montessori classroom.
- Guide each child's academic, social, emotional, and physical development through observation and individualized lessons.
- Foster a calm, respectful, and joyful learning environment.
- Build positive partnerships with families through open communication.
- Collaborate with the Director, Assistant Teachers, and support staff.
- Mentor Assistant Teachers and model Montessori best practices.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming classroom and comply with State of Michigan requirements.
Qualifications
- Primary Montessori Teaching Credential (required)
- Experience leading a Primary Montessori classroom preferred
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A caring, dependable educator who values lifelong learning
