This position focuses on shaping high-performance print subsystems, strengthening image quality and reliability, and guiding technical decisions that support scalable product development. The role also serves as a key technical authority, partnering across disciplines to solve complex performance challenges and mentor engineering teams.Responsibilities:• Direct the design and refinement of electrophotographic print subsystems, with emphasis on integrating magnetic ink character recognition capabilities across critical imaging stages.• Establish measurable goals for print performance, durability, and cost efficiency, and drive engineering efforts to achieve those objectives throughout the product lifecycle.• Plan and lead structured testing programs to evaluate system behavior, define operating ranges, and uncover the variables that most influence print outcomes.• Diagnose sophisticated print defects and process failures, perform root cause investigations, and coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional partners.• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and materials teams to incorporate imaging subsystems into both new product designs and existing platforms.• Support development activities from early concept work through release, including technical requirements, prototype evaluation, design reviews, and verification testing.• Partner with manufacturing teams to introduce new imaging processes into production, develop control strategies, and resolve quality, yield, and reliability concerns.• Create and maintain test procedures, measurement approaches, and acceptance standards for electrophotographic performance and overall print quality.• Provide clear technical documentation and presentations that communicate design decisions, experimental findings, and recommendations to engineering and leadership audiences.• Coach engineers and technicians on best practices in experimentation, data interpretation, and imaging technology development while promoting continuous technical improvement.• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline; advanced degree preferred.• 10+ years of progressive experience developing electrophotographic or xerographic printing systems in an engineering or R& D environment.• Demonstrated success leading technically complex projects from concept through implementation within print or imaging product development.• Deep knowledge of core xerographic subsystems, including charging, exposure, development, transfer, fusing, cleaning, photoreceptors, and toner or developer behavior.• Strong capability in experimental design, statistical analysis, and data-driven problem solving for performance and reliability improvement.• Familiarity with monochrome and color printer architectures, environmental testing, and long-term reliability evaluation.• Experience supporting manufacturing quality initiatives, including process control, defect analysis, and production readiness activities.• Working knowledge of QA/QC data collection or analysis tools, including Visual Basic for Applications, is preferred.
