Campus Title Lead Programmer Analyst

Position Summary This is an exciting opportunity for a new college graduate or someone with experience who wants to grow their skillsComputing and Information Technology at SUNY Geneseo seeks to hire a Lead Programmer Analyst to join the Information Systems group. The Lead Programmer Analyst analyzes designs constructs tests documents and supports software associated with campus administrative information systems. In addition to custom developed software the position will be responsible for configuration and integration with third party applications.A successful candidate will be able to work on a highly collaborative technical team to solve problems and provide excellent support to the college community with the support of senior developers.
Summary of Responsibilities • Act as lead developer supporting the Banner student information system and other campus management information systems • Consult with customers on application requirements business process improvements and use of applications • Design develop test document and support database applications that provide business workflows transactional maintenance and data integration with third party applications • Develop custom reporting and analytics • Configure test and support third party product modules • Interface with third party product support resources to resolve problems • Manage projects independently including planning scheduling communication and effective use of campus request tracking system
Salary 58000-70000 commensurate with experience.
Flexible hybrid work arrangements may be an option subject to NYS SUNY and Geneseo rules regulations and policies.

Required Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelors degree by time of appointment. Experience in SQL programming with modern relational databases Demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills Ability to manage and complete work independently Provide outstanding customer service and teamwork Excellent communication skills Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workingteaching environment Ability to work evenings and weekends on an occasional basis to support critical issues and project upgrades Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications • A minimum of 1-3 years analysis and programming experience • Experience developing web-based applications HTMLCSSJavascript web-based user interfaces • Proficiency with system integration and APIs • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java Groovy PHP • Experience with Ellucian Banner student information system • Proficiency with reporting writing tools such as Evisions Argos and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services • Experience with analytical reporting tools such as PowerBI • Experience with LinuxUnix commands and operating system

Supervision Received This position reports to the Director of Information Systems. The director routinely meets 11 to provide guidance and direction for their work.
Supervision Exercised The Lead Programmer Analyst may also supervise student workers and interns on projects. The Lead Programmer Analyst may also will take a leadership role in managing projects and small teams of colleagues.

Job DutiesResponsibilities Percentage Of Time 45 Job Duty Responsibility Function 1 Analyze design code test software applications. -Work as a member of the Information Systems team on the development of new applications and modifications to existing applications as needed. -Code program instructions. -Compile and test programs in accordance with installation and application standards. -Integrate programs with the mainline systems. -Consolidate condense and document all programsystems details in a concise manner so that sufficient information is available for Information Systems end users and management.

Project Team participation may comprise a significant portion of your workload during the life of a given project and may include specific duties not outlined in this job description. The Director in consultation with other team members will evaluate your work on Project Teams.
