Job Title: Lead, Project Engineer – SEIT IPTJob Code: 37866Job Location: Waco, TXSchedule: 9/80Sign-on bonus: $15,000–$25,000KJob DescriptionL3Harris is actively seeking a Project Engineer – SEIT IPT LEAD to support the execution of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on airborne platforms. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the program technical development is performed to meet all technical, cost, and schedule requirements and that the final design meets all customer requirements.Planning and execution of program activitiesDocumenting and approval of program plansEnsuring life-cycle process adherenceRisk identification and managementCustomer and Senior Leadership interactionOverall program coordination during the program lifecycleThe individual Engineering Functional Task Leaders (Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Logistic Engineering, Technical Publications, etc.) report to and take direction from the Project Engineer for the assigned program operations. In addition, Project Engineers are the key technical interfaces to Customers and have the responsibility to interact with Customers at every phase of the program lifecycle.Essential FunctionsSupport planning, execution, and oversight of SEIT activities across the full program lifecycle.Coordinate system engineering, integration, verification, validation, and test efforts to meet program objectives.Translate customer and contractual requirements into actionable technical plans and engineering tasks.Lead cross-functional coordination between systems engineering, design engineering, software, test, manufacturing, quality, and program management.Track Engineering Performance Metrics and brief program status on a monthly basis to senior engineering leadership.Track cost and schedule execution and be able to explain any variances and the path to get back to program targets.Ensure program execution and Bid/Proposal development are in accordance with engineering processes and policies.Support development of system architectures, functional decompositions, interface definitions, and verification approaches.Plan and coordinate integration activities for subsystems, components, and end-item configurations.Oversee preparation for integration events, lab testing, ground testing, environmental testing, and flight testing as applicable.Ensure verification and validation activities are aligned with requirements and customer expectations.Manage technical schedules, action items, risks, opportunities, and issue resolution related to SEIT scope.Support requirements traceability between customer requirements, design requirements, verification activities, and certification evidence.QualificationsBachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.Demonstrated experience understanding of engineering processes and policies.Demonstrated experience in Bid and Proposal development.Ability to travel as needed based on business demands.Demonstrated experience in one of the following disciplines:Aero Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Flight Sciences)Software/Hardware EngineeringSystems Engineering (including Test Engineering)Project EngineeringPreferred Additional SkillsDemonstrated experience in leadership by being a Task Leader, IPT Leader, and/or Functional Manager, or other similar leadership roles.Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
