About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT). We are looking for Lead Software/Quality Automation Engineer for a large-scale Enterprise Payments Modernization Program. This role will lead the Automation Development & Quality engineering strategy, planning, and execution for validating payment flows across multiple integrated systems, ensuring high levels of quality, reliability, and scalability of modern payment platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in quality engineering, payments systems, interface partner coordination, and cross-platform integration testing, capable of driving quality strategy, Automation and governance from requirements through production readiness.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the end-to-end quality strategy, leading complex technology initiatives, driving interface partner coordination, and ensuring seamless testing across multiple upstream and downstream systems. You will provide technical direction and mentorship, and collaborate closely with product, architecture, DevOps, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders, while leveraging modern engineering practices, cloud-native platforms, and AI-assisted tools to improve delivery speed and quality in alignment with Wells Fargo's risk, security, and compliance standards.
This role provides hands-on leadership in defining and executing end-to-end quality engineering strategies for enterprise payments modernization initiatives. It involves leading test planning, strategy, and execution across complex, integrated systems and partner interfaces, ensuring aligned test scenarios, data validation, and defect resolution. The position emphasizes designing and validating comprehensive end-to-end payment flows-including real-time payments, ACH, wires, and event-driven transactions-while driving integration testing to ensure data integrity and system reliability. Responsibilities include establishing quality standards and governance, overseeing automation and CI/CD integration, managing test environments and data readiness, and facilitating defect triage and resolution. The role requires strong stakeholder collaboration to define scope, timelines, and risk mitigation, along with clear reporting on quality metrics, risks, and release readiness, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, security, and audit standards.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
