Lead Quality Inspector
Location: Cheshire, CT
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Thursday (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay: $25.00 – $40.00/hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Inspector to support and enhance quality operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading inspection activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting production teams while mentoring junior inspectors.
Key Responsibilities
Perform first article, in-process, and setup inspections
Collect and prepare inspection samples from CNC screw machines
Utilize precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and comparators
Interpret complex mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Accurately document and report inspection results
Manage internal and external calibration processes using GageTrak
Train and support new and existing inspection team members
Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (screw machine experience preferred)
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools and comparator equipment
Experience with CMM and/or optical inspection systems (PC-DMIS is a plus)
High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus
Schedule Details
Pay Details: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour
