Eleven Recruiting is searching for a Lead Quality Inspector for 2nd shift for one of our largest aerospace aftermarket clients sitting onsite in Chatsworth, CA. In this role, you'll perform a wide variety of quality inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies, ensuring compliance to dimensional and contractual requirements on products with complex geometry and configurations. You'll be responsible for reviewing blueprints and specifications to determine the inspection instruments and methods needed, then performing those inspections hands-on using precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Sustain a high level of ethics while conducting company business in accordance with the company's code of ethics and policies, inclusive of the ASQ code of ethics.
  • Apply strategic and critical thinking on a continual basis to Quality Control inspection, product compliance, and conformance for both suppliers and the company.
  • Perform review and verification of compliance with Supplier Purchase Order quality flow-down requirements for received product.
  • Perform independent inspections of assigned tasks—including documentation reviews (ATP, CofC, FAIR), hardware inspection, assembly inspection, and test validation—using blueprints, specifications, contractual documents, and visual inspection methods.
  • Perform inspection of complex GD&T hardware using a variety of hand and bench tools, including micrometers, bore gages, depth gages, dial indicators, drop indicators, height gages, optical comparators, hardness checkers, and profilometers.
  • Communicate, lead, and coach internal departments regarding Quality Control activities, developments, and objectives.
  • Implement Supplier Quality procedures.
  • Support development of strategies with direct management, Supply Chain/Purchasing, and Engineering to provide visibility into risks associated with supplier quality trends.
  • Create supplier and internal Nonconformance Reports as needed.
  • Provide leadership, technical training, and mentorship for Level B (II) and Level C (I) Quality Control Inspectors.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to Inspection personnel on mechanical inspection techniques, product and document verification, and other evaluation methods as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise in Quality Control inspection principles and regulatory administration, including:
    • FAA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 14 Part 21, Certification Procedures for Products and Parts.
    • AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 9000 Quality Management System standards.
    • Proficiency in AS9102 First Article Inspection and DISCUS/Net Inspect.
  • Root cause and corrective action investigation methods such as Apollo Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Five Whys, and Ishikawa (Fishbone) Diagrams, along with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and DMAIC.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical analysis/process control tools such as SPC, Pareto, and DPMO/PPM.
  • Familiarity with Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) for product acceptance.
  • Electronic/electrical test techniques.
  • Electronic/electrical inspection methods and acceptance criteria.
  • General manufacturing and assembly techniques.
  • AS9100/ISO 9001 Internal Auditor experience.
  • Proficient drawing reading and interpretation, including ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
