    Job Description

    This position provides leadership within the Imaging department to support consistent, high-quality standards of care and positive patient outcomes, with a primary focus on supporting imaging needs within the Operating Room (OR). The ideal candidate will bring extensive OR experience along with demonstrated leadership experience or strong leadership qualities and the ability to effectively guide and support others.

    This role requires someone who is flexible, adaptable, and able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced and changing environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in high-stress situations, making adjustments and decisions in the moment, and remaining self-motivated and productive during periods of downtime.

    In addition to providing direct patient care, this position will help coordinate daily activities, support and lead team members, and role model professional practice and exceptional customer service. The individual will build and maintain strong working relationships with Imaging leadership and staff, OR team members, providers, and other ancillary departments.

    While the primary focus of the position will be supporting OR imaging needs, this individual will also serve as a flexible resource to the broader Imaging department, stepping in to support other imaging staff and leaders as operational needs arise.

    Schedule: This position is full-time 0.8 position, 8-hour shifts Monday - Thursday within the hours of 6:45 am and 7:15 pm with rotating call evenings, weekends and holidays.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The hourly wage for this opportunity is $31.36/hour to $45.44/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure.  Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees.     Sign-on Bonus: This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000. The bonus amount will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

     

    Primary Job Responsibilities  

    Utilize Information   

    • Finds, effectively uses, and provides information.  Readily adjust to shifting priorities and work assignments.  
    • Maintains effective operation of timely and efficient imaging services, coordinating staff to match patient flow.  
    • Provides support and serves as a technical resource regarding imaging exam details, image quality, imaging systems and equipment.  
    • Monitors and holds staff and providers accountable for timely and accurate documentation of patient care.  

    Accurate and Efficient Work   

    • Demonstrates accuracy, efficiency, and completeness in products and processes.  Performs tasks with appropriate urgency and accuracy while reducing waste through proactive time management.  
    • Functions competently and efficiently as an Imaging Technologist.  
    • Takes initiative and follow-up as needed.  
    • Respect others’ priorities and meet urgent requests whenever possible.  
    • Effectively manages time, adhering to department attendance policy.  
    • Demonstrates flexibility in rotating service assignments to meet various customer needs as requested by leadership.  
    • Patient and family needs supersede other activities; respond to patient/family requests for information and assistance in a timely, courteous manner, with respect for professional boundaries and ethical conduct.  Keeps families informed of delays.  
    • Ensures imaging equipment is operational, troubleshoot equipment issues and oversee service and preventative maintenance to resolution.  Works with leadership to ensure quality control testing, and regulatory mandates are met or exceeded. 

    Active Engagement  

    • Active involvement in committees, task forces, meetings and the work of the department or work group.  
    • Integrates high ethical standards and core values into everyday work activity.  
    • Actively represents the department and disseminates information and decisions to colleagues and peers.  
    • Effectively communicates pertinent patient information to ensure continuity is maintained.  
    • Identifies and/or investigates the potential impact on users, workflow, and existing systems as new equipment, systems, and upgrades are considered or implemented.  

    Staff Management  

    • Holds staff accountable for expectations.  Addresses performance issues promptly and corrects poor performance.  Enables employees to grow and succeed through feedback, instruction, and encouragement.  
    • Collaborates with other Lead Technologists, support cross-training and utilization of staff appropriately across modalities.  
    • Actively participates in staff meetings.  
    • Contributes to an environment conducive to the education of health care professionals.  

    Setting Expectations  

    • Sets clear, meaningful, challenging, and attainable individual and group goals and expectations that are aligned with those of the organization.  
    • Provides oversight to ensure images meet the expectations of the ordering physicians and radiologists.  
    • Ensures accountability through the use of quality dashboards and promotes transparency through reporting of near misses and medical errors.  
    • Provides meaningful feedback to staff and peers.  
    • Coordinates, collaborates, negotiates within the Imaging leadership team to positively resolve issues and work towards attainment of the team and organization goals.  

     

    Qualifications  

      

    • Current ARRT and CPR certification  
    • Graduate of an accredited school or equivalent certification  

     

     Preferred  

    • Bachelors degree in imaging, management, or other healthcare related discipline  
    • Active involvement in professional associations  
    • Experience with pediatric and/or disabled populations
