We are looking for an experienced Lead Rulebook Configurator with a strong background in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance, product configuration, underwriting rules, and pricing models. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring insurance products and business rules using Verisk Rulebook (Sequel Rulebook) or similar insurance rules engines. This role requires close collaboration with Underwriting, Actuarial, Product, Operations, IT, and Change Management teams to deliver insurance product configurations and pricing solutions.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Insurance Technology, Product Configuration, or Business Rules Implementation.
- Strong experience with Verisk Rulebook (Sequel Rulebook) or similar insurance product/rules configuration platforms.
- Experience working with insurance rules engines or configurators such as:
- FICO Blaze
- IBM ODM
- Drools
- InRule
- Duck Creek Rating/Product Configuration
- Guidewire Rating/Product Model
- Other similar insurance configuration tools
- Experience converting Excel-based pricing models into configurable business rules and system-based rating models.
- Strong understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) Specialty Insurance and the London Market.

- Workflow components
Responsibilities
- Configure and implement insurance products using Verisk Rulebook (Sequel Rulebook).
- Translate pricing models and underwriting guidelines into configurable business rules.
- Configure rating engines, underwriting rules, and workflow components.
- Work closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Product, Operations, IT, and Business teams to gather and implement requirements.
- Convert Excel-based pricing models into scalable system configurations.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of configuration changes.
- Ensure insurance product configurations comply with business and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in release planning, configuration management, environment promotion, and production support.
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation.
