Position Summary

The Lead Runner plays a key leadership role in supporting the efficient operation of all assigned food and beverage service areas throughout the venue. The Lead Runner is responsible for directing, coordinating, and supporting the Runner team during events, including assigning daily tasks and service areas, monitoring runner positions and workload, and ensuring all food, beverage, equipment, and supplies are delivered accurately and efficiently. This position serves as a primary point of contact between Runners, Suite Attendants, Concessions, Culinary, Premium Services, and venue management, helping to communicate operational needs and address issues as they arise. The Lead Runner assists with event setup, stocking, replenishment, food and beverage deliveries, transfers, inventory, sanitation, equipment maintenance, and event closeout while ensuring runners maintain proper service standards and a clean and organized work environment.

This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

Oak View Group is the venue manager and food and beverage provider of the SoFi Center, a first-of-its-kind venue located in Palm Beach Gardens on the campus of Palm Beach State College. TGL presented by SoFi is a new golf league, combining advanced technology with teams of top players from the PGA TOUR for two-hour weekly competitions in prime time. Seven TGL teams representing seven different cities go head-to-head in a season-long competition at SoFi Center, a first-of-its-kind venue built specifically for TGL on the campus of Palm Beach State College. Matches air on ESPN and the ESPN app in the U.S. with every shot live and all the players mic''d up, bringing unprecedented access to the competition for golf fans.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading the Runners'' setup of food & beverage service areas within the venue based on specific event needs.
• Lead and guide Runner staff by assigning daily tasks, service areas, and priorities.
• Oversee setup, stocking, replenishment, and organization of suites, concessions, and service areas.
• Coordinate the distribution, transfer, requisition, and inventory of food & beverage, supplies, and equipment.
• Monitor product quality, stocking levels, and proper product rotation.
• Ensure service areas, equipment, and storage spaces are clean, organized, and event-ready.
• Support efficient food and beverage service while maintaining guest service standards.
• Assist management with enforcing company policies, food safety, sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol service.
• Communicate operational needs and service issues with Runners, Culinary, Suite Attendants, and management.
• Support event closeout, including product storage, equipment returns, transfers, and cleanup.
• Lead by example, provide direction and support to team members, and proactively address operational needs.
• Maintain excellent attendance and a professional, positive, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume bar capacity is preferred. Lead experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, businesslike, and respectful manner, which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
• Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations.
• Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages) as they relate to product inventory.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Ability to lift heavy objects frequently is required.
