Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Project Controls Schedule Lead to support the planning and execution of large-scale capital projects and advanced manufacturing facility development.
This position will take ownership of project scheduling activities across multiple workstreams, developing and maintaining integrated master schedules, monitoring project performance, identifying schedule risks, and providing accurate forecasting and reporting to project leadership.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in
capital project scheduling, particularly within construction, industrial, manufacturing, or other complex project environments. This individual should be comfortable operating with a high degree of independence and ownership while working collaboratively with project managers, engineers, contractors, procurement, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Project Scheduling & Controls
- Lead scheduling activities for medium to large-scale capital projects.
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules from initial planning through completion.
- Establish project baselines, milestones, critical paths, target dates, and schedule performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) across multiple project workstreams.
- Incorporate engineering, procurement, construction, equipment, installation, commissioning, and other project activities into integrated schedules.
- Monitor actual progress against planned performance and identify variances.
- Develop weekly and periodic schedule forecasts for project leadership.
- Maintain accurate schedule data and ensure timely updates from project stakeholders.
Project Forecasting & Reporting
- Partner with Project Managers and project teams to establish annual plans, milestones, and execution targets.
- Provide regular schedule forecasts and status updates.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate project performance.
- Establish standardized tracking and reporting templates.
- Identify trends that could affect project completion dates, budgets, or major milestones.
- Clearly communicate schedule performance, risks, and recovery opportunities to leadership.
Schedule Risk Management
- Identify potential schedule risks and delays before they impact critical milestones.
- Evaluate impacts associated with engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Work with project teams and contractors to develop mitigation and recovery plans.
- Monitor critical path activities and key dependencies.
- Escalate significant schedule risks and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Ensure contractual schedule requirements and stakeholder commitments are incorporated into project plans.
Project Controls Process Development
- Help establish and improve project scheduling processes, standards, and procedures.
- Develop consistent scheduling methodologies across capital projects.
- Establish templates and tools that improve project data visibility and reporting.
- Support development of project controls best practices within a growing organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, schedule quality, and project execution.
Capital Project & Construction Support
- Partner with engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams throughout project execution.
- Support project setup and maintenance of project master data.
- Track major equipment procurement, delivery, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor construction progress and contractor performance against established schedules.
- Support project closeout activities and capture lessons learned.
- Provide schedule information needed to support equipment commissioning and determination of project completion milestones.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, Accounting, and other project stakeholders.
- Facilitate schedule updates and information gathering across multiple teams.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external contractors.
- Influence stakeholders to provide accurate and timely project information.
- Help project teams understand the schedule implications of decisions and changes.
Systems & Technical Skills
Required / Highly Preferred
- Primavera P6 advanced/expert-level experience
- Strong experience developing and managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
- Strong SAP experience within a project environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with project management and scheduling tools
Preferred

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of project planning and scheduling experience supporting large capital projects.
- Strong experience managing schedules for medium to large-scale capital projects with multiple stakeholders.
- 3+ years of industrial project experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience taking ownership of project schedules and serving as the primary scheduling/project controls resource for projects.
- Advanced experience with Primavera P6.
- Strong understanding of integrated scheduling and project controls principles.
- Experience working with SAP in a project environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing Integrated Master Schedules.
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and communicating schedule risks.
- Strong forecasting and project reporting capabilities.
