Lead Securities Operations Specialist – AI Process Optimization

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension/Conversion)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Securities Operations Specialist to support operational excellence and AI-driven process optimization within a large financial services organization. This role combines deep securities operations expertise with process analysis, knowledge management, and AI enablement to improve operational efficiency and consistency.

The ideal candidate has strong experience across the securities trade lifecycle, operational risk management, and process improvement, along with an interest in leveraging AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to enhance workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex securities operations initiatives and process improvement efforts.
  • Analyze and document operational workflows across the trade lifecycle.
  • Develop structured process documentation and knowledge repositories to support AI-enabled solutions.
  • Collaborate with business partners and operational teams to identify workflow optimization opportunities.
  • Research and resolve complex operational issues while ensuring compliance and risk controls.
  • Support projects involving client onboarding, trade processing, settlements, funding operations, custodial services, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Create standardized operational frameworks, documentation, and decision-support materials.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to implement new operational processes and workflow enhancements.
  • Utilize Excel and related tools to organize operational data and support knowledge management initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Securities Operations experience.
  • Strong understanding of the securities trade lifecycle and settlement processes.
  • Experience with operational process mapping and workflow analysis.
  • Knowledge of operational risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Prompt Engineering, or other AI tools.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled operational solutions.
  • Knowledge of Power Automate, SharePoint, or enterprise knowledge management tools.
  • Previous Wells Fargo experience is a plus.
  • Contact center or frontline operations support experience is preferred.
