Job Duties:
We are seeking a full-time night shift Security Officer IV with Shift Differential for shift weekends and holiday work. Responsible for maintaining the security of resident population and staff at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Maintain constant and positive interactions with patients on the unit. Ensure unit security presence on each unit and on each shift. Respond to emergency codes on the units. Ultimate control over the safety of the patients on designated unit through efficient and compliant use of Therapeutic Options TO and approved de-escalation techniques. Assignment will be to specific unit and or units with occasional rotations to other units areas as needed. Responsible for leading the safety culture and initiatives on the units.
Night Shift Hours: 11:30 p.m. - 8 a.m.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in handling emergency crisis situations such as physically controlling confining and restraining required. Current State Motor Vehicle Operators License required. Demonstrated experience working in a Psychiatric environment. Demonstrated ability to write safety reports.
Additional Considerations:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of experience. Prior experience working in a field such as law enforcement, military police, or corrections.
