Join us—and be part of something that matters. The Lead Security Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design, development, deployment, and optimization of secure Video Management Software (VMS) and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solutions for government clients. This individual leads a team of Video Management System Engineers and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless functionality and performance of enterprise-level video security platforms, including our Surveill VMS.

This position requires strong technical leadership, hands-on experience with enterprise VMS/PSIM technologies, and a proactive, mission-driven mindset to help shape the future of secure video systems for high-impact environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  •         Lead the design, development, and optimization of Surveill and other secure video management software solutions.
  •         Manage and mentor a team of Video Management System Engineers, ensuring high performance and alignment with project goals.
  •         Oversee commissioning logic development, testing, and deployment for PSIM platforms.
  •         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the functionality and integration of VMS and PSIM systems.
  •         Define product and technical requirements based on stakeholder input and user feedback.
  •         Troubleshoot and resolve complex video system issues with minimal disruption to operations.
  •         Ensure system scalability, performance, and uptime across domestic and OCONUS client sites.
  •         Lead the deployment and maintenance of video management infrastructure and ensure proper documentation.
  •         Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system architecture, configuration, test results, and training materials.
  •         Perform other duties as needed to support mission-critical operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  •         Quick learner (much of what we do is proprietary and must be learned on the job).
  •         Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to guide technical staff.
  •         Deep understanding of Video Management Systems.
  •         Knowledge of PSIM platforms and their integration with physical security technologies.
  •         Familiarity with networking concepts, security protocols, and TCP/IP.
  •         Proficiency with video technologies including Codecs/Protocols (e.g., h.264/265), Multicast/Unicast, and video streaming.
  •         Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (2005/2008+) and writing SQL queries.
  •         Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
  •         Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and incidents.
  •         Excellent communication and documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  •         Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  •         Experience in Physical Security or Force Protection is a plus.
  •         Understanding of modern programming languages is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

  •    4–5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise Video Management Systems.
  •         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  •         Relevant military training or industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft) may substitute for a degree.
  •         Equivalent combination of education and practical experience in VMS or physical security systems will be considered.
  •         One year of practical experience networking or IT
  •         Experience and knowledge of the physical security information management industry preferred.
