Description
Job Summary:
The Lead Server serves as the senior front-of-house team member responsible for ensuring efficient, high quality dining service for residents. In addition to standard serving responsibilities, this role supports dining room operations, and acts as a liaison between the front and back of house. The Lead Server assists in supervising staff, maintaining service standards, and ensuring a seamless and elevated dining experience for residents and guests. This is a non-tipped position.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Minimum of 3 years of serving experience, with demonstrated leadership or training experience preferred
Experience with beer, wine, and alcohol service
Eligibility as determined by background screening, drug screening, and physician physical.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Friendly demeanor with a passion for working with seniors.
Ability to listen and communicate clearly with patience and professionalism
Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation guidelines
Experience with POS systems preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Service & Resident Experience
Provide exceptional table service, including taking orders, delivering meals, bussing, and resetting tables
Ensure resident satisfaction by proactively addressing requests, concerns, and special needs
Deliver meals to resident apartments as directed
Maintain thorough knowledge of daily menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods
Leadership & Oversight
Act as shift leader in the absence of the Dining Room Supervisor or Culinary Director
Responsible for training all new servers
Monitor and verify completion of opening, running, and closing side work
Supervise dining room operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and service standards are met
Operations & Coordination
Serve as the primary liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow
Assist in resolving service delays and order issues
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the dining room, server stations, and service areas
Ensure adherence to all sanitation, safety, and company policies, including alcohol service regulations
Team Support
Promote a positive work environment through professionalism, teamwork, and respect
Assist with additional Dining Services needs as assigned
Work Schedule Requirements:
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
