Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder/Model Maker
Garden City - Days - $27 to $33 Per Hour
We are looking for a Prototype Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder/Model Maker familiar with Prototype Sheet Metal Stamping, Fabricating and Assembly.

Summary: Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set-up and operate machine tools, fit, weld and assemble details and build/fabricate to print.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models
• Prepare templates and sketches and determine work processes
• Work with close tolerances.
• Plan, build, tryout, PM, and repair stamping dies and related press tooling.
• Perform ordinary die development work, tool machining operations, skilled fitting, assembly, spotting, adjustment and timing.
• Perform project tryout, diagnose and then correct any accompanying problems ensuring that the final project adheres to pre-established specifications (cad data or part print).
• Dismantles dies, repairs / replaces damaged details or components, verifies that the repaired die operates correctly.
• Operate tool room equipment including but not limited to: Brake, Sheer, Mig & Tig Welding is a Plus, Drill Press, Mills, Lathes and Grinders.
• Must have all tools common to trade practice.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a Journeyman/Senior Level Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder/Model Maker with minimum of 5 years experience working with metal stamping dies
• Able to perform all essential job functions with little to no supervision and with or without a reasonable accommodation 

Candidate to Client Submission Procedure:  Upon successful MeritHall Interview, Candidate Resume is Emailed to Client, a Job Site Interview is Scheduled and after a successful Interview a Wage Rate and Start Date is negotiated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range:
$27 to $33 per hour, determined by Client, following successful site Interview.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday: (Required) 7 AM to 3:30 PM, (5:30 for 10-Hour Schedule)
• Saturday: 7 AM to Noon or 3:30 PM, as Required and Directed
• Sunday: (Rarely and only as Required and Directed)

Experience:

• Prototype Sheet Metal Model Maker: 8-Years (Preferred)

Additional Requirements: 
Must work well with others and be reliable.
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required.
Education:

• High School or Equivalent (Preferred, but Not Required)

This is a Temp-To-Hire Option
