We are seeking a Lead Snowflake Developer to drive the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of Snowflake-based data platforms. This role will partner closely with business and data stakeholders to translate requirements into canonical data models, ontologies, and data products, while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions across the enterprise. You will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, helping shape roadmap direction and data platform maturity.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the architecture and implementation of Snowflake environments, including Bronze/Silver/Gold layers
Partner with business and data stakeholders to translate requirements into canonical models, ontologies, and data products
Define and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and domain-driven design
Guide teams on data ingestion patterns, transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt), and Snowflake performance optimization
Integrate data management capabilities including Data Quality (SODA), Governance, Metadata Management, and Observability
Ensure platform scalability, security, cost optimization, and enterprise compliance
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and modelers
Act as a key contributor in roadmap planning, technical decisions, and stakeholder communication
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of experience in data engineering and platform architecture, including 3+ years in a lead role
Strong hands-on Snowflake experience, including performance tuning, clustering, security, and cost optimization
Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Understanding of business data domains (e.g., Client, Finance, etc.)
Deep expertise in data modeling (dimensional, canonical, domain-driven)
Experience designing or working with ontology/semantic layers (business vocabularies, relationships, metrics)
Strong knowledge of modern data stack tools (dbt, orchestration, CI/CD for data)
Experience implementing Data Quality, Governance, Metadata, and Observability solutions
Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi
Strong SQL skills and expertise with ELT patterns
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred / Nice to Have:
Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic models, or graph technologies
Exposure to enterprise-scale data platforms supporting multiple domains and global users
Background in cloud-native architectures and large-scale data modernization programs
