Job DetailsWe are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Superintendent to join our team. This is a permanent position in our construction division, offering a unique opportunity to lead and manage a wide range of construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all stages of project construction, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and managing contracts, budgets, and risks.
Responsibilities:
As a Lead Superintendent, your core duties will include:
1. Overseeing the construction process from conception to completion. This includes coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they are following the project plan and schedule.
2. Ensuring all safety regulations are adhered to and creating a safe working environment for all staff. This includes conducting regular safety inspections and meetings, and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
3. Managing contracts effectively, ensuring all terms and conditions are met, and resolving any issues that arise.
4. Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications, and ensuring all construction activities align with these.
5. Preparing and managing project budgets, and implementing cost control measures to ensure the project stays within budget.
6. Conducting quality control inspections to ensure the work meets the specified standards and requirements.
7. Estimating construction costs accurately, and preparing detailed project estimates.
8. Identifying, evaluating, and managing project risks, implementing risk mitigation strategies where necessary.
9. Liaising with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities, maintaining open and effective communication throughout the project.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this Lead Superintendent role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in safety management, contract management, blueprint reading, construction estimating, budgeting, quality control, cost control, and risk management.
3. A strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
4. Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues effectively.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
7. Strong numeracy skills, with the ability to prepare and manage budgets and conduct cost estimations.
8. The ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications accurately.
9. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
10. Relevant certifications in safety management, contract management, or related areas would be an advantage.
