Cimarron is seeking a *Systems Engineer* to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Duties:
- Develop, manage, and maintain project requirements, ensuring full traceability from stakeholder needs through design, implementation, and operations.
- Participate in and facilitate design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Support project closeout activities, including verification and validation, final documentation, as-built records, and lessons learned.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, configuration management analysts, and stakeholders to ensure effective systems integration.
- Contribute to the creation, revision, and maintenance of systems engineering governance documents, including the SEMP, SEP, and SE Handbook.
- Standardize processes for requirements management, design review, risk management, and verification and validation across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure governance processes align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Support training and rollout of systems engineering processes to other engineers and project teams.
- Work cross-functionally with project managers, engineering disciplines, operations teams, and executive leadership.
- Participate in enterprise systems engineering working groups and process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
- 3 or more years of experience in systems engineering or closely related engineering roles.
- Demonstrated experience with the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development, design reviews, verification and validation, and project closeouts.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering standards such as the INCOSE SE Handbook or ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Experience supporting facilities or infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing or maintaining governance documents such as SEMP, SEP, or SE Handbook.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices.
- Experience coordinating with diverse technical and operational stakeholders.
- Experience with metrics-driven process improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical field.
