IDR is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Duluth. This role involves supporting complex IT infrastructures within a managed services environment, providing escalated technical support, technical leadership, and guidance to other engineers. The ideal candidate has strong MSP experience, advanced technical expertise, and the ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and critical infrastructure projects.
Position Overview for the Lead Systems Engineer:
- Serve as the highest-level technical escalation for complex infrastructure issues.
- Design, implement, and support Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers.
- Lead infrastructure projects and migrations.
- Work directly with clients and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system stability.
- Support Azure & Entra ID administration, network engineering, and security efforts.
Requirements for the Lead Systems Engineer:
- Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to other engineers.
- 5+ years in an MSP environment.
- Proven Tier 3 or lead-level engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
- Extensive experience with networking technologies including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Proven ability to handle high-level escalations and complex infrastructure issues.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
