Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and optimization of enterprise tax engines, including OneSource Determination, Vertex, or Avalara
  • Own end-to-end tax engine integration with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle), ensuring accurate tax calculation and scalable system design
  • Drive global tax transformation initiatives, including migration of tax engines from on-premise to cloud-based environments
  • Provide leadership across multi-region tax projects spanning LATAM, EMEA, and APAC, ensuring alignment and consistency across implementations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for tax technology, advising on design decisions, architecture, and best practices
  • Lead system configuration, testing strategy, and validation efforts, ensuring high-quality delivery and minimal defects
  • Partner with Tax, Finance, and IT leadership to define requirements, solution design, and roadmap priorities
  • Oversee integration efforts with adjacent platforms (e.g., procurement and finance systems) to ensure seamless tax processing
  • Support and guide junior resources, providing direction, mentorship, and quality oversight
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and standardize global tax processes and improve system efficiency
  • Contribute to broader initiatives involving tax determination, compliance, and e-invoicing capabilities

Required Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years of experience in tax technology, indirect tax systems, or ERP-tax integrations

  • Proven experience leading or owning tax technology implementations, including configuration, integration, and delivery

  • Deep expertise with at least one major tax engine:

  • OneSource Determination (preferred)

  • Vertex or Avalara

  • Strong experience integrating tax engines with:

  • SAP (ECC or S/4HANA) orOracle (Cloud or R12)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, global initiatives across multiple regions and stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of indirect tax processes, tax calculation logic, and system architecture

  • Ability to independently drive workstreams with minimal oversight and provide strategic input

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with broader tax platform capabilities (e.g., determination, compliance, e-invoicing)
  • Exposure to cloud/SaaS-based tax or ERP ecosystems
  • Experience leading ERP transformations or migrations (e.g., SAP to Oracle)
  • Familiarity with procurement or finance system integrations
  • Experience operating in large, global enterprise environments
  • Background supporting multi-region tax programs (LATAM, EMEA, APAC)
