The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates professionalism, creativity, patience, and consistency, and maintains full compliance with Bright from the Start, DECAL, and Georgia Lottery Pre-K requirements. Responsibilities include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS); fostering early literacy, mathematics, science, social-emotional development, and school readiness; maintaining a safe, engaging, and organized classroom; monitoring scholar progress through observation and assessment; communicating regularly with families; collaborating with school leadership and teaching teams; and ensuring all licensing, health, safety, and program standards are consistently met.
Successful candidates possess a genuine passion for early childhood education, excellent classroom management and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field is required. Applicants must also meet all Georgia Lottery Pre-K certification requirements, maintain current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, and satisfy all Bright from the Start, DECAL, and background screening requirements. Previous Georgia Lottery Pre-K teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties:
· Follow instructional program for Pre-K scholars
· Provide structure in the classroom by developing and clearly enforcing rules and expectations for class discussion and activities
· Follow the programs policies and procedures for conduct and discipline
· Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to instruct children
· Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
· Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
· Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, or colors, do crafts etc.)
· Organize nap, snack hours, and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
· Track children’s progress and report to parents
· Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
· Collaborate with other educators
· Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
· Participate effectively and collegially in department meetings and parent meetings
