Lead Teacher

Job Summary
Star After School Program is seeking an experienced and energetic Teacher(s) to join our team in Methuen, MA! You will be responsible for encouraging children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. The ideal candidate is nurturing, patient, and creative. Responsibilities 

• Must be able to plan and implement a curriculum
• Provide basic care and caregiving activities
• Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones
• Must communicate effectively with parents, children, and staff members
• Must be able to attend monthly staff meetings
• Patient, kind, and nurturing
• Must be able to bend & lift up to 40 pounds

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a licensed childcare center required
• EEC Teacher and/or Lead Teacher Certification Required
• Knowledgeable of EEC regulations and assessment tools such as Teaching Strategies Gold, Creative Curriculum, and others
• Strong understanding of child development
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills required
• Must possess classroom management skills
• Must possess effective behavior management skills
• Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Required to maintain minimum workshop requirements
