Lead Teacher

About the Role:
Milwaukee Childcare Center of the A is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team in Milwaukee, WI! Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
• Lead and supervise classroom activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment
• Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress and milestones
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's growth and classroom updates
• Mentor and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
• Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and childcare center policies

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and early childhood development
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication, leadership, and classroom management skills
• Ability to pass a background check per Wisconsin childcare licensing requirements
• Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for working with children
