Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Applicants for this position must be willing to work 8:30am – 5:30pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
- Must be willing to assist in required personal care routines.
- Applicants should have a love of teaching, working with children, and have the desire to learn and grow within the early childhood education field!
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
- Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence through quality teacher-created lesson planning that utilizes gathered assessment data.
- Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.
- Establish positive and effective family relations through professional communication.
- Proficient with inter-personal communication between children, peers and parents.
- Must maintain professional commitment to the Goddard play-based educational philosophy.
Applicants Have OR MustBe Willing to Obtain:
- A degree or certification in Education or Early Childhood Education or an Education related field.
- An active Merit account - Washington's Professional Development & Workforce Registry.
- A approved Portable Background Check (through Merit).
- Applicants must be willing to commute to The Goddard School in Redmond Ridge.
- The following required prerequisites: 30 hour Childcare Basics certificate, a negative Tb Test, CPR/First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens Training, WA State Food Handlers, all required DCYF training courses, and proof of MMR immunization.
Compensation: $20.50 - $25.00 per hour

About Company
The Goddard School provides the foundation to encourage a child's lifelong love of learning .In our warm, caring atmosphere, dedicated teachers support the development of children from 6 weeks to 8 years old. Our year round program offers families the choice of either half day or full day schedule.
We are delighted to be the on-site owners of The Goddard School on Theodore Street in Plainfield.
